Dragon Bay Villas is an expat villa community in Shunyi, not far from ISB (Beijing´s American school). All houses at Dragon Bay Villas are 3 storeys high and include a basement, balcony and a back patio. Bright rooms. Sold bare shell so interior decor varies. Dragon Bay has good gym and club facilities. The real estate development includes a section outside the main gate with cafes, shops and restaurants.
*Pros: Excellent sports facilities. Some shopping just outside the gate, but away from Shunyi´\'s main amenities at Pinacle Plaza. Only Shunyi property with an indoor tennis court (a rarity in Beijing).
*Cons: Quality of interior renovations vary greatly. Not a vibrant expat community. Away from Shunyi´s main cluster of amenities.
*Note: At Dragon Bay Villas houses were sold bare shell so quality of fittings and decor varies.

Tony Chor, 03 July 2010Dragon Bay is a nice area with a reasonable community vibe. Like other places, the villas vary considerably in decor, so choose wisely. The management is pretty responsive with repairs, etc. and the workers seem to know what they're doing. There are some moisture problems in the basements, but nothing like the flooding at Yosemite. It's convenient having restaurants and a spa at the edge of the neighborhood, but the closing of April Gourmet (the only place to buy milk, eggs, etc. nearby) is a real loss.
